Our Process - Real Time Locating System
As an experienced knowledgeable integrator that supports a wide range of technologies with hardware and software, we have learned to ask the "Lamp Lit" questions in that we know what questions to ask. Trust us when we say "There is a lot to consider". The RTLS target is large, comprehensive and especially complex. Our experience within the RTLS field has led us to develop a process that is thorough and guides your facility. Knowledgeable staff ask questions through the decision making process to make sure all options are covered, the outcome is measurable and goals are met.Several complexities that we have encountered with facilities, include:
- Not looking at the long-term implications of an RTLS investment - Not Future-Proofed
- Too many RTLS systems within the facility - Departments order their own and in the end there can be multiple RTLS systems instead of utilizing one platform that unifies everything
- Grappling with how to use the various technologies and understanding what make sense with what use cases - understand what the end goal is
- How does location certainty matter to use cases?
- Is there an infrastructure already in place that can be built upon?
In order to guide the complex varied decisions; we ask questions, lots of questions that take forethought and a long term view of the the project. We guide through discovery, planning, implementation, and are there after the project for on-going support and improvement. 60% of developing an RTLS project is done at the discovery and planning level. That is how important planning and preparation are!
Discovery and Planning is the CRAWL Phase (60%): This is where we do a needs assessment, site survey and evaluate current workflow. Then comes planning where we d
efine the “Preliminary” scope and develop a custom design that addresses your capital investment and operational costs. This is also the phase where we
propose our recommended solution.
Implementing is the WALK Phase (30%): IMS does the infrastructure installation which includes hardware, distribution of system components, software and all coordination with the preferred RTLS application vendor(s), system and software testing and certification. Finally training and Go-Live support are addressed.
On-Going Support and Improvement is the RUN Phase (10%): IMS makes sure the system is delivering what was promised, today, tomorrow and in five years or more!
