Single Sign-On
Hospitals are moving from paper-based to digital environments, requiring people who access the growing IT infrastructure to enter names and passwords every time they use a resource. This typically means users have to enter (and remember) passwords for multiple applications. It's not unusual for them to forget their passwords and borrow from colleagues. However, shared passwords violate HIPPA mandates and make it extremely difficult to maintain accurate records of who is accessing which applications from which devices. - Single sign on is critical to simplifying user log in and password management. Workspace provides single sign on and password management capabilities as part of the Symantec Workspace Corporate solution.
- Signing On: Symantec Workspace Corporate streamlines and speeds the process by which users sign on to applications. Rather than having to enter user names and passwords for every application they access, they need only one and enter it into the system just once. Users are instantly delivered to their workspace and can even be brought to unique landing spots deep within the layers of applications.
- Logging Off: Normally, if users don't follow correct log off procedures applications can lock up or malfunction the next time users log on. Symantec protects applications from adverse affects, regardless of how users log off.
- Password Resets: Workspace makes password management much easier for users. Applications typically require that users change their passwords every 30, 60 or 90 days. IT can configure our solution to automatically generate new passwords for users or, using its self-service capability, can enable users to manually change their passwords themselves.
- Multi-factor authentication. Does your security policy require multiple levels of authentication? We can work with any combination of active proximity, passive proximity, rfid, biometric, smart cards or any other method. We can allow the level of authentication to vary by location or user for ultimate customization.
