IMS chose to partner with Symantec because of the extensive success of the Symantec Workspace Corporate Product (formerly nSuite PrivacyShell) in the Healthcare environment. The first access management solution designed from the ground up for healthcare. Symanec Workspace Corporate has an install base of hundreds of hospitals with some implementations as old as 6 years.

 Symantec Workspace Corporate provides the simplest but most secure method of accessing hospital information systems. All that is required of a doctor, nurse or case manager to access the computer system is to tap their HID card or smartcard and Symantec Workspace Corporate will identify and authenticate each user, automatically present each end-user with his or her own personal desktop and function-specific clinical applications without the need to enter a user name or password credentials. When a user is finished, they simply walk away from the workstation and Workspace automatically disconnects the user session. Users can roam from workstation to workstation and gain access to their desktops exactly as they left the previous workstation. During this entire process, Workspace records and reports each user's activity through extensive log reports allowing quick audits and compliance with healthcare regulations
